Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: October 2026

The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care comes before anything else we do at Future Kraft Academy. This policy sets out the standards and procedures we follow to prevent harm, respond to concerns and create a safe, respectful learning environment.

Our commitment

Future Kraft Academy, currently owned and operated by Coboticca Automation Pvt Ltd, is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for every child attending our Wonder Sessions, classes and events. Abuse, sexual misconduct, harassment, bullying, exploitation, discrimination, grooming, intimidation and neglect are not tolerated. Every mentor, employee, contractor, volunteer and visitor is expected to follow appropriate boundaries and act in the best interests of children.

Scope

This policy applies during Academy sessions, events, online programme activity, official communications, field visits or off-site activities organised by us, and to interactions between students and our mentors, staff, contractors or volunteers arising from Academy activities.

Safeguarding responsibility

Our founding team is responsible for receiving and escalating safeguarding concerns. We will ensure that staff and mentors know who to contact when a concern arises and that concerns are documented and handled promptly. Where the Academy grows, we may designate a named safeguarding lead and deputy and publish their current contact details.

Mentor and staff vetting

Professional boundaries and prohibited conduct

Mentors, staff, contractors and volunteers must maintain appropriate adult-child boundaries. They must not:

Supervision and one-to-one situations

Tools, equipment and physical safety

Attendance, drop-off and pick-up

Health, medical and emergency situations

Parents and guardians should provide information reasonably necessary for a child’s safe participation, including relevant allergies, medical needs, accessibility needs or emergency information. In an emergency, our priority is the child’s immediate safety. We may contact emergency services and the parent or guardian and take other reasonable steps appropriate to the situation.

Photography and media

Staff and mentors must not use identifiable images or recordings of students for personal purposes. Promotional use is governed by our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and we seek separate parent or guardian consent before using identifiable child media for promotional purposes.

Online and communication safety

Where a programme uses online tools, coding platforms or digital communications, mentors supervise student use as appropriate and the following safeguards apply:

Bullying and peer-on-peer concerns

Bullying, harassment, sexualised behaviour, intimidation and other harmful peer-on-peer conduct are not accepted. We will take concerns seriously, consider the safety and needs of all children involved, inform parents or guardians where appropriate, and take proportionate steps to prevent recurrence.

Recognising and reporting concerns

A safeguarding concern may arise from something a child says, an injury or behaviour that causes concern, an observation of adult or peer conduct, an online interaction, or information received from a parent, staff member or another person. A person who receives a concern should not attempt to conduct their own investigation or promise absolute confidentiality. The concern should be escalated promptly to the responsible safeguarding contact so that appropriate action can be taken.

Mandatory reporting and POCSO

Where information gives rise to knowledge or apprehension of an offence that is required to be reported under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO), we will make the required report to the appropriate authority without avoidable delay. Internal handling of a concern does not replace any mandatory legal reporting obligation. We will seek to protect the child’s privacy and dignity while complying with the law.

Responding to an allegation about a mentor or staff member

An allegation concerning a mentor, employee, contractor or volunteer will be treated seriously and escalated promptly. We may restrict the person’s contact with children while the concern is assessed, depending on the nature and seriousness of the allegation. We will not allow an internal inquiry to obstruct or delay a report or investigation by police or other competent authorities where their involvement is required.

Confidentiality and records

Safeguarding information is shared only with people who reasonably need it for protection, response, investigation or legal compliance. We maintain appropriate records of material safeguarding concerns and actions taken, and handle those records in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Raising a concern

A parent, guardian, student, mentor, staff member or visitor should raise any concern about a child’s safety or adult conduct as soon as possible. Every concern will be taken seriously. Where there is an immediate risk of harm, emergency services or the police should be contacted without delay in addition to notifying the Academy where appropriate.

No retaliation

No person should be disadvantaged for raising a safeguarding concern in good faith. Deliberately false or malicious allegations may be addressed appropriately, but uncertainty about what happened should not prevent someone from reporting a genuine concern.

Policy review and training

We review this policy periodically and when there is a significant safeguarding incident, operational change or relevant legal development. We also refresh safeguarding expectations with staff and mentors as appropriate.
